Full job description
Key contributor to the overall CP Business Team. Support the Solo brand’s strategic choices, product and commercial innovations, holistic communication plans and brand execution across all media and consumer touch points. Contributes and in some cases leads initiatives related to marketing, as well as the overall execution and delivery of results. This individual will have strong analytical skills and will act as a strategic partner with sales, innovation, finance, customer marketing and our agency partners.
Day-to-Day Role:
- Track business performance trends, opportunities, and drivers, leveraging a mix of syndicated consumption data, shipment, or other available data
- Analyze data and identifies insights through our data platforms (Nielsen, IRI, financial, consumer, customer) and makes recommendations to support business initiatives and/or actionable tasks to drive results
- Conduct regular competitive research, monitors brand health and performance, and hosts share outs with cross-functional teams
- Assist with the development of Business Reviews for the brand
- Regularly attend demand and project update meetings
- Provide timely business strategy performance updates to key stakeholders
- Serve as the brand steward and product expert to include maintaining brand standards, consumer communication, manufacturing and quality processes and requirements
- Support brand team in managing the development and execution of graphics and product design and execution of new product structures, graphic product designs, packaging graphics, and overall maintenance for the brand
- Exhibit understanding of consumer, shopper, customer, and channel as it relates to segment, brand, and category
- Develop and executes key brand initiatives from inception to completion. Projects may be consumer, trade/customer, or manufacturing driven.
- Assist in the development of portfolio innovation strategy and annual brand portfolio plan recommendations
- Assist in development and execution of consumer communication strategy and programs/ materials
- Support the brand team in the marketing plan execution
- Pro-actively translate strategy into actionable plans
- Partner extensively with cross-functional team members to ensure alignment and success
- Work closely with the brand and sales teams to provide support in developing customer presentations and account specific marketing programs
- Guide development of product sell sheets/brochures/broker bulletins, product sample materials for field sales and customer/sales presentation materials
- Demonstrate ability to lead and initiate new products initiatives from concept to commercialization, motivating cross-functional teams to achieve key deliverable goals
- Build strong information/relationship network with field sales to obtain customer and market understanding to include attending key customer meetings and market visits
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing or business
- Three (3) years of experience in CPG brand marketing
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience using Nielsen and/or IRI consumption data
- Analytical skills with ability to convert data into solid strategic recommendations
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on work projects, and communicate with project partners
- Ability to think strategically and see how parts interact with the big picture
- Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
- Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues
- Ability to effectively present to an audience
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
