We have an exciting and immediate opportunity for a strong marketing leader to join our Walmart team! In this high-profile role, you will manage the overall WM CSM team to develop and execute Hasbro-branded retail programs for Walmart to maximize our Hasbro POS. Utilizing strong communication and collaboration skills, you will partner in the creation of brand-centric, customer-focused retail activation programs and sales presentations.
This exciting role will report to the Vice President of US Sales for Walmart, and can be based in either Providence/Pawtucket, RI, or Northwest Arkansas.
A Day in the Life of a Director of Customer Strategic Marketing:
- Lead in the creation of the marketing strategy and execution for Hasbro Brands at Walmart to deliver stated goals and strategies. Ensure alignment to Hasbro and Walmart’s corporate priorities.
- Partner with the Sales VP to effectively manage the marketing budget driving the most effective and efficient ROI and ROAS for team Walmart.
- Act as the liaison between US Marketing, Global Marketing and the Walmart sales team/Buyers to ensure that all strategies and initiatives align, to deliver best in class omni-channel marketing programs for Hasbro brands at Walmart.
- Develop a close understanding and relationship with Walmart Merchants, Walmart Marketing, and Walmart Connect, to drive the execution of major corporate initiatives within the Customer Strategic Marketing framework.
- Form relationships with Hasbro Consumer Products and third parties (licensees) to drive the execution of major corporate initiatives (entertainment events, product launches, seasonal opportunities).
- Measure marketing-related point of sale results & share back with cross functional teams to hone future strategies and tactics.
- Coordinate, develop, and lead marketing presentations to key customers; Develop strategy to execute key tent pole promotions leveraging new initiatives such as collector exclusives and online/digital/social media marketing activations; Identify and analyze customer insights and shopping patterns to develop synergistic cross merchandising promotions; Build relationships with key retail marketing counterparts
- Lead and coordinate Walmart previews twice per year
- Responsible for managing 2-3 direct reports.
- Along with the VP, and the Director of Replenishment, act as a key leader of the overall Hasbro Walmart Team.
What You’ll Bring:
- Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally.
- Ability to make informed decisions quickly to keep performance on track.
- Strong project management abilities; capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints and within budget parameters.
- Strategic vision and depth in understanding how the consumer reacts to marketing vehicles.
- Analytical skills to determine forecasted lifts, ROI, etc. for marketing programs.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in consumer-packaged goods marketing, sales or retail environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field; MBA preferred.
- Expertise at development of a fully integrated retail program & consumer promotions, in store and online.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to provide clear and concise direction/feedback to external and internal stakeholders and the ability to influence others to adopt his/her recommendations.
- Outstanding presentation skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of corporate financials.
- Brand marketing knowledge.
- Retail marketing and/or sales experience.
- Ability to direct merchandising and promotional activities both in store and online.
- Ability to plan, recommend & direct sales and promotional programs.
- Experience in retail trade/supplier environment.
- Expertise at implementation of a fully integrated marketing plan.
- Strong relationship building and maintenance skills.
- Expertise managing, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.
