Position Summary
As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision making process.
Specific Job Summary

As a member of Corporate and Development Finance team, provides financial analytical support for the development of valuation and planning tools that enable executives of Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation to make business decisions that create the most shareholder value. Generally, works under close supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to meet department goals.
Expected Contributions
- Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
- Responds to, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.
- Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
- Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:
- identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.
- providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.
- participating in setting department operating plans.
- recognizing and celebrating team successes.
- achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
- Performs other duties as appropriate.
Specific Expected Contributions

Resort Development/ Business Line Leadership/ Mergers & Acquisitions
- Support the evaluation of potential new Timeshare development projects and multi-unit acquisitions, preparing pro formas, financial analyses and valuations of proposed transactions.
- Support in due diligence and company overviews to provide senior management with a preliminary view of potential target companies and new business opportunities.
- Support long-range planning of development efforts through various ad hoc analysis.
Financial Planning And Analysis
- Support group activities such as the company-wide long-range plans and annual budget.
- Support ongoing operating model of the company’s businesses to assist management in capital allocation and liquidity management.
- Support evaluation of corporate finance and capital allocation issues such as dividend policy, share repurchase, and inventory sequencing.
- Serves as an internal resource to various process improvement efforts.
- Support the development of senior executive presentations to MVW’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Asset Management
- Support the Asset Management group in evaluating the financial impact of various workout resolutions including pro forma generation, financial valuation, and contract summarization.
Candidate Profile
Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:
Generally a professional position with specific knowledge in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology). College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.
Specific Candidate Profile

- Bachelor’s in finance, accounting, mathematics, or technical field.
- Master of Business Administration preferred but not required (preferably with concentration in Finance).
Experience
- Prior experience as a financial analyst preferred.
- Real Estate or Timeshare experience preferred.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of technical corporate finance concepts including valuation and modeling of financial statements and cash flows.
- Strong spreadsheet skills (macro development, complex formulas), word processing, and presentation software.
- Present analytical results in manner appropriate for senior management decision-making (both orally and in writing, in memos or presentation format).
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects, and work both independently and as part of a team including a leadership role on a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers. Demonstrate ability to interact with senior management and build persuasive business cases.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, creating an environment allowing timely information flows throughout the organization.
