Job Posting Title Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst
Job Description Summary Supports the organization’s accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting. Maintaining records of organization’s financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use. Completing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management, and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities. Supporting and assisting junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.
Consolidation of all key plant finance reporting requirements including actuals, budgets, forecasts, long range plans in addition to numerous supporting schedules.
Prepare monthly forecast volume guidance for use in volume assumption used for forecasting
Facilitate development of the budget through careful planning and clear communication of requirements
Consolidate all key internal submissions of financial data in alignment with key reporting due dates
Provide guidance to all reporting locations on key assumptions, deliverables and due dates that align with AAM’s schedule for disclosing information publicly
Develop solid working relationships with plant finance managers & BU finance leadership. Maintain constant communication with these key individuals on sensitive deliverables such as actual results, forecasts and budgets.
Develop understanding of the process and work to eliminate any waste in this time sensitive function.
Required Skills and Education
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance.
Advanced PC proficiency including MS Excel, MS Word & MS Access
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding interpersonal skills (i.e., for presentations, meeting facilitation, etc.).
Self-starter with ability to complete projects start-to-finish.
1-3 years relevant experience
Ability to adapt to constantly changing work environment. Priorities will constantly change and individual must be willing to adapt
MBA or pursuing
Working knowledge of Oracle ERP, Plex ERP or Bliss ERP
Familiar with use of Hyperion Financial Management or BPC
