Strategic Planning Manager
Manager, Strategic Planning
The Manager, Strategic Planning will support the SVP, Strategic Planning, and, by extension, the executive leadership team of Meredith’s National Media Group, by performing analysis that informs the strategic direction and competitive positioning of the business. Working closely with operational leadership, finance partners and other stakeholders, you will build business plans, analyze internal business lines, assess competitive landscape and prepare presentations that support growth opportunities across our print, digital and licensing businesses. You will play a key role in the strategic planning process for the NMG, by assisting with the development of actionable plans as well as by monitoring progress against those plans.
Assist SVP, Strategic Planning with analysis that informs short, medium and long term NMG corporate strategy recommendations that lead to growth and operational efficiency.
With oversight from SVP, Strategic Planning, develop business plans, models and dashboard tracking for new opportunities, product lines, and brand extensions; manage ongoing tracking of key metrics for strategic initiatives
Work with Finance to align budgeting and long-range planning needs with strategic plan execution and tracking
Assist with strategic reviews of businesses, products, segments, and operations to identify opportunities and issues and recommend solutions that improve long term competitiveness
Complete regular market, industry, and competitor analysis to support strategic planning and monitor trends and changes in the market
Develop presentations and updates for the executive team and Board of Directors that summarize strategic analysis, options and recommendations
Bachelor’s degree; MBA a plus
2-3 years of in consulting, corporate strategy, finance or other relevant corporate function
Experience in media and technology is a plus but not a pre-requisite
Excellent analytical skills including Excel modeling and the ability to effectively interpret and represent data through charts and graphs
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to synthesize complex topics in PowerPoint presentations and other formats
Collaborative style of working, and a comfort navigating various levels of management, different functional areas and work styles
Curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
