Full job description
The xEV Product Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the market strategy and plan for product(s) within Midtronics xEV Solution Portfolio. This person is involved through all stages of a product or portfolio’s lifecycle, including requirements, road mapping, and driving specific marketing and account execution to drive business success.
This position involves close interaction with key customers, engineering leads and stakeholders, and regional sales/marketing stakeholders. A strong sense of ownership, initiative, technical acumen and marketing understanding is required.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Take ownership of a platform strategy and execution to achieve our growth goals
- Grow the revenue and profitability of all products in assigned portfolio
- Document and understand the competitive landscape as an input to strategy
- Development and implement market strategies and plans from understanding of market problems and opportunities
- Define and segment assigned market(s)
- Identify key persona’s and document their use case/user experiences and market problems
- Create product strategy and requirements
- Develop strong working relationships and partnerships across different departments and with customers
- Collaborate with sales and marketing communications to develop sales enablement materials, launch new products, and execute market plans
- Provide technical assistance, training and leadership for regional marketing, sales, and our customers as a subject matter expert
- Apply logical reasoning from previous project to enable rapid quoting activities with assistance from technical support
- Responsible for overcoming complex business obstacles
- Sell your vision internally and rally the team to achieve our business goals
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering; MBA a plus
- 3-5 years previous product management/product marketing experience
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and technical product knowledge
- Strong leadership skills – Must be able to build trust and set direction for the team, gain alignment with key stakeholders and drive commitments and results
- Strong business sense – Must be able to develop product strategy from market analysis
- Entrepreneurial drive – Own product strategy and execution to deliver business goals
- Curiosity – Desire to learn and understand new technologies
- Teaming Skills – Ability to develop strong working relationships and partnerships internally and externally
- A strong customer orientation with a “how can I help” approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Travel (including some global) will be required – 20%
